The body - rough sawn
With dog
I did this with a coping saw - foolish
Here's the body with the sides sanded and the neck all glued up
I cut fret slots with a razor saw and filled with sawdust and epoxy. The epoxy didn't seep in entirely on every slot.
The back of the neck. Padauk and maple.
Some rough carving of the neck, and the peghead cut.
This part was my favorite.
The body contoured, and the neck pocket routed.

All strung up, but one pickup cavity was gouged oversize by the router. I'm toying with the idea of doing inlay where you see the white paper. It would be a tricky spot to try and make a patch.

Notice wardrobe consistency with early shots from 2 months ago.

It plays nice! Can't wait to finish and plug it in.
Something about rock'n'roll and chicks, no?
Some boiled linseed oil rubbed in

looking good...

Continue to the finished instrument.
